General information
The campsite approval comprises the authority to establish and operate a campsite.
Requirements
Personal prerequisites for being granted a campsite approval are:
- legal capacity;
- reliability in relation to the operation of a campsite; and
- integrity of the applicant.
If the approval is granted to a legal person, the personal prerequisites shall be met by a representative (managing director).
Deadlines
If all prerequisites are met, the decision on the application for approval of a campsite shall be made without undue delay, however not later than within six months.

Procedure
If the personal prerequisites are met, the approval shall be granted, unless tourist interests are impaired, if the area intended for use as campsite is suitable for being used as such by the intended persons in terms of location and quality, if the required facilities are available and the other preconditions set out in this Act are met and if other legal provisions, in particular those relating to nature conservation are not opposed to the establishment of the campsite.

Required documents
The applicant shall enclose the following documents, in duplicate, in the application for an approval of a campsite:
- a site map at a scale of not more than 1:2,880, including the land plots located 50 m around the campsite, including a list of owners of such land plots, including the owners of the land plots on which the campsite is to be erected;
- a site map at a scale of not more than 1:500 showing the borders of the campsite and the location of the required facilities;
- a project description explaining the required facilities in more detail.

Costs and fees
State administrative charge pursuant to the Oö. Landesverwaltungs-Abgabenverordnung 2011 [Upper Austrian Ordinance on Administrative Charges of 2011]
for awarding the approval: EUR 52;
Charges according to the Gebührengesetz [Fee Act]:
for filing the application: EUR 47.30;
for the annexes to be attached to the application: EUR 3.90
per sheet*, however a maximum of EUR 21.80 per annex;
for granting the authorisation: EUR 83.60.
*Sheet means paper whose dimensions do not exceed twice 210 mm x 297 mm in one or both directions. Charges in the double amount shall be paid for paper exceeding these dimensions.
Further information
The operation of the campsite may start only when the campsite complies with the contents of the campsite approval. The holder of the campsite approval shall notify the authority, in writing, that the operation of the campsite started.
Means of redress or appeal
A complaint can be filed against the notification. Such complaint shall be made in writing and must be filed with the authority which issued the notification within four weeks. The period commences upon receipt of the written copy or, in case of an oral announcement, when such is made.
The complaint shall also state the notification and the authority against which it is made, the reasons on which the alleged illegality are based, the request and information that is necessary to assess whether the complaint was filed in due time. Complaints shall no longer be permitted if the party explicitly waived its right to make a complaint after the notification was served or announced to it.
Otherwise, any notification contains information on legal remedies, including the instruction before which authority the legal remedy must be filed and within what period.
